William J "Gut" VanDyke, 50, of North Syracuse, passed away Sunday at home after a brief illness. Gut was a life long resident of North Syracuse and a graduate of North Syracuse High School. He served briefly in the US Army Reserves.
He is survived by his mother, Joanne M. Hale of North Syracuse; his father, Charles H. VanDyke Sr. also of North Syracuse; sister, Laurianne J. VanDyke of North Syracuse; two brothers, Charles H (Paula Gamer) Jr. of Baldwinsville and Edward J. (Katie) of Cicero; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins
Services will be held on Wednesday at 7 PM at New Comer Family Funeral Home. Burial will be private. Friends may visit with his family on Wednesday from 4-7 PM at the funeral home, 705 N. Main St., North Syracuse.
Contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to the American Cancer Society.
