William Earl Schaeffer, 85, of Syracuse, our beloved father and grandfather, a prince among men, treasure by all, passed away Thursday at Crouse Hospital. Born in Renovo, PA he was employed with Schaeffer Insurance Agency. A Navy Veteran of WW II, he was a member of the Masons, Grand Lodge # 0520 and the Elks Lodge #2348.
He is survived by his wife; Martha (English) Schaeffer, a daughter; G. Jeanne Brett, a son; William Ray Schaeffer, 4 grandchildren; Mrs. Holly Medan, Ms. Leah Matteson, Mrs. Melissa Zahler and Mr. William A. Schaeffer and 10 great grandchildren.
Services will be held on Thursday at 11 AM at New Comer Family Funeral Home, North Syracuse. Burial will following in the Veterans Cemetery. Friends are invited to visit with the family on Thursday from 9-11 AM, at the funeral home, 705 N. Main St.
