William R. Meyer, 81 of North Syracuse peacefully passed away Saturday, at his daughter's home. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Marine Corps.
He was a life long resident of the Syracuse area, retiring in 1989 from Fayetteville School District after 25 years of service. He was a member of the VFW, Marine Corp League, and the Marine Corps Heritage Foundation.
He was predeceased by his wife Doris of 60 years in 2007 and his son Dean in 2005.
He is survived by 4 sons, William (Suzanne) of Cicero, Daniel (Crystal) of Clay, Timothy (Diane) of Clay, Raymond (Sheri) of Cato; 5 daughters Mary Archambo (Wendell) of Sewell, NJ, Michele Barbour of North Syracuse, Denise Curry (Brian) of Weedsport, Kathleen Lamoureux (Marty) of Clay, Candie Kohar (Steve) of North Syracuse; along with many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be Thursday from 10 to 12PM
at Newcomer Funeral Home, with services immediately after. Burial will be in the North Syracuse Cemetery.
