William R. Liedka (Bill), 40, passed away from injuries sustained from a fall on Friday, February 10, 2023. Bill was born in Syracuse, New York on March 27,1982 to Robert and Charlene.
Bill graduated from Marcellus High school in 2001 and enlisted in the United States Air Force. Bill completed basic training at Lackland Air Force base and went on to complete his training as a Crew Chief for the A10 Thunderbolt II (Warthog) at Davis-Monthan Air Force base in Arizona. While at Davis-Monthan, Bill was selected to become a member of the 12th Air Force A-10 Thunderbolt II demonstration team, performing at air shows around the United States showcasing the toughness, tenacity and devastating good looks of the A-10.
After rising to the rank of Staff Sergeant, Bill received an honorable discharge from active duty in 2005, and joined the New York Air National Guard at Hancock Field, as a Crew Chief on the F-16 Fighting Falcon and the MQ-9 Reaper. Bill took and passed the NYS Trooper exam and in 2008, became a NYS Trooper for 10 years, fulfilling his lifelong for dream. Bill most recently was a School Bus Driver for Solvay Central Schools.
Bill is predeceased by his grandparents Carol and William and Raymond and Gilda, his aunt, Gelene, uncle, Raymond, cousin, Victoria, and extended grandmother, Hazel.
Bill is lovingly survived by his two children, Gabrielle (Katie) and Anthony (Michelle). His mother Charlene (Bruce), father, Robert (Terri), his sister, Ashley (Jakeb), nieces, Analisia and Juliana and nephew, Christopher. Bill is also lovingly survived by several aunts, an uncle, and many cousins.
Calling hours for Bill will be held on February 20, 2023 from 4:00pm to 6:00pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals.
