William G. Mattice, 74, of Brewerton, NY, passed away at St. Joseph's Hospital on August 15th after a brief illness.

Bill was born in Syracuse, NY to Herbert and Hazel (Piquet) Mattice. Bill graduated from Central Square High School – Class of 1956.

He was employed with GE- Haun Welding- and retired from General Motors.

He served in the Army and the Naval Reserve, and was a member of the Pappy Softball League, the Grey Barons Drum and Bugle Corps. He also drummed, played guitar and sang harmony in several bands throughout the years. Bill loved his camp in the Adirondacks and also enjoyed playing golf. Those that knew Bill appreciated his gift of music – his beautiful voice and his sense of humor.

Bill is predeceased by his parents Herbert and Hazel Mattice, his sister Marilyn Smith, brother Herbert Mattice Jr., and first wife, Jeannette Belsky.
He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Mattice, son Norman Mattice and stepsons Tom (Diane) and Brian Hickey as well as two beloved grandchildren Joseph Hickey and Aaliyah Hickey. He is also survived by brother Richard (Nelma) Mattice, Norman Mattice and sister, Carol (Paul) Bednarz and many nieces and nephews.

A special thank you to Dr. Benny Wong for his deep compassion and dedication shown towards Bill throughout his care.

Calling hours are 4-7PM with a service following at 7PM on Monday at New Comer Funeral Home, N. Syracuse.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Bill's name, according to his wishes to Crossroads Community Church, Fyler Rd., Chittenango, NY 13037.
