William A. Garand, 87, of Liverpool, passed away November 21, 2018.

William was born in Newburyport, Massachusetts on November 9, 1931 to the late William and Effie Blanche Garand. William served 4 years in the United States Air Force and graduated from the University of New Hampshire with a degree in physics.

He was an engineer and retired from GE. In his free time, he enjoyed camping with his family, and his annual fishing trip to the Poirier Fish and Game Territory. During his retirement, he and his wife would travel across the country visiting with family and friends. He was preceded in death by a brother, George Garand; two sisters, Dorothy Chagnon, and Carol Sheffield.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Anita Lemaire; three sons, William S. (Julie), Wilfred, and Maurice; grandchildren, William G. and Kenneth, Morgan and Kevin, Jessica (Cory) Kimball, Elizabeth (Kyle) Miletta, and Mary Garand; great-grandchildren, Mason and Chayston Garand, Lucienne Pearl Kimball, and Norah L. Miletta; and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends may call on Monday, December 3rd from 3pm-7pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 705 N. Main St., North Syracuse, NY.

A memorial mass will take place December 4th, 10AM, at St. Rose of Lima Church, 409 S Main St, North Syracuse, NY 13212. Memorial contributions may be made to Clear Path For Veterans, 1223 Salt Springs Rd, Chittenango, NY 13037, and the St. Rose of Lima Food Pantry.

Interment will be made at the family's convenience. The family would like to thank the staff at The Cottages at Garden Grove for their exceptional care.
