Bill Young, 71, of North Syracuse, passed away peacefully on Wednesday at St. Joseph's Hospital surrounded by his family.

Born in St. John, NB Canada, his family returned to Syracuse in 1951. Bill attended North Syracuse High School. Throughout the years he owned several business' including, a Herald Distributorship, The Cottage Inn outside of Rome, NY and the Royal Motel in North Syracuse.

Since retiring in 1994 he enjoyed winters in Inverness, FL. While in Florida he kept active playing golf and cards with his Snowbird friends and family. His many "projects" kept him busy year round.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years; Linda (Bradshaw), his 4 girls; Denise (Bill) Seigart, Lorinda (Pat) O'Brien, Dorothy (Mel) Miller and Karen Young, 7 grandchildren, 2 brothers; John Young and George Young, a sister; Mary Pat McLerran and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be Monday at 10 AM at St. Rose of Lima Church, North Syracuse. Calling Hours will be held on Sunday from 1-4 PM at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main St., North Syracuse.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation or a favorite charity of your choice.
