William E. Hughes, 87, of North Syracuse, passed away Saturday at the VA Medical Center. He was born in Jay, NY, and grew up in Lake Placid. William was a life member of the Lake Placid Post 326 and retired from Crouse Hinds after 35 years. He is predeceased by his wife, Mabel C. Hughes.
He is survived by his step daughter, Susan M. Jones; step son, Jerry Schad; grand children and great grandchildren; 3 sisters, Doris Fadden, Francis Gyraki, Charlotte Riese; 3 brothers, Robert, Carlton and Harold White; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be Wednesday, 4PM at New Comer Funeral Home. Calling Hours will be from 2-4PM, before services. Spring Burial in Pine Plains Cemetery, Clay.
