On October 2, 2024 at the age of 92, William J. Driscoll Jr. moved on peacefully to be with our Lord, leaving behind an amazing example of love and hard work for his loving family. Born in the time of the Great Depression, William valued every blessing in his life. As a young adult, America went to war and he joined the army to serve in the Korean war under Harry S. Truman until he was honorably discharged. This was followed by working at the same facility for 38 years in Oneida, New York. First called JAX's tasty snacks. Then the building was taken over by Oneida Molded Plastics where he remained while supporting his family until retiring in 1994.
He lived a very full life with a great love of family, going on long rides through the Adirondack mountains, fishing any chance he could, and always enjoying comforting food like a large plate of spaghetti and meatballs or covered beef sandwiches and always potatoes. He also was never without a cup of coffee in hand. He was a member of the American Legion Post 169 in Oneida and a communicant of St. Helena’s Church in Sherrill.
Proceeded by parents William J. Driscoll Sr. and Florence (Messenger) Driscoll, sisters; Carol Driscoll and Francis “Mary” (Driscoll) Bowman, sons; William J. Driscoll III and Douglas Driscoll.
Survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Cynthia M. Driscoll; sons Kenneth (Jane) Driscoll, Jeffrey Driscoll and companion Annette Goodell, Eric J. (Jennifer) Driscoll, and Robert S. Driscoll; grandsons Andrew Driscoll, Aaron (Laura) Driscoll, Wesley M. Driscoll and Zachary T. Driscoll; granddaughters Amber Driscoll, Ashley Driscoll , Angela Driscoll, Kristi Driscoll; and eight great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.
