William Blake Sr., 95, of Syracuse, passed away Wednesday. Born in Wala Wala, Washington, he was a resident of Syracuse for 50+ years. William was a loyal and great father, grandfather, neighbor and friend who would literally give you the shirt off his back and never let anyone go hungry. A true gentleman who defended his country surving in the Army during WWII and as a para-trooper in Vietnam. He was a retired truck driver and drove school bus for Holy Cross and enjoyed working as a mechanic after he retired.
Surviving are William Blake Jr., Michael Blake, Lisa Blake, Marcia Burke, Michaelia Blake, Sam Jordan Grago, Kayleen Grago, Michael Blake II, Mary Wilmot and Dale Chatraw.
Services will be Sunday, 3PM at New Comer Family Funeral Home. Calling Hours will be Sunday from 1-3PM at the funeral, before services.
