William B. Whidden, 82, of Brewerton, New York died Friday, December 23, 2011 at home surrounded by his family.
Bill retired from Ryder Truck Rental and Leasing, he previously worked for Boss-Linco. Following retirement, Bill continued working as an over the road truck driver. He had many interests and hobbies including, boating, NASCAR, airplanes and travelling. He was a US Army National Guard veteran. Bill was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church.
He was predeceased by a son, William B. Whidden and two brothers, Richard and Francis Joseph Whidden, who was killed in action in the Korean Conflict.
Surviving are his wife of 61 years, the former Mary Ellen Easterly; son, William T. (Tamara) Whidden of Brewerton; daughters, Patricia A. (Raymond) Main of West Monroe and Mary Kay (Ronald) Golden of Baldwinsville; brother, James Whidden of Cazenovia; sister, Joan Clark of Cicero; five grandchildren, Daniel Main, Mary Beth, Peter and Anthony Finocchiaro and Stephanie Nichols; five great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Bill's family would like to acknowledge Shannon and Yvonne for the wonderful support and care they provided him during his illness.
Services will be 10 AM on Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at Sacred Heart Church, Cicero. Burial will be in Assumption Cemetery. Calling hours will be held from 3-7 PM on Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 North Main Street, North Syracuse, New York.
