Wendell D. (Jake) Jaquith

Wendell, 80, of Baldwinsville, passed away at St. Joseph's Hospital after a long illness. Born in Antwerp, NY he graduated from W. Carthage HS, then served in the U.S. Air Force.
A devoted husband, he was married to Shirley Anthony, for 58 years. He retired from GM Fisher Guide in 1990, moved to Florida for 10 years before returning to Syracuse, in 2006, to be closer to his family. He was an airplane enthusiast and held a private pilot's license, owned a Piper Cherokee, and was an EAA member building an ultra-light in his spare time. He was a past president of the Local 854 Credit Union, a member of the American Legion (37 years), St. Joseph's Seniors and Canton Woods Seniors. Jake and Shirley were co-presidents of Top Hats Dance Club in Syracuse.
Surviving are his loving wife, Shirley, a son Michael (Gloria) , Pennellville, a daughter, LynneMarie Lowe, Santa Fe, NM, two grandchildren, Nathan Jaquith, Denise Hull, a great grandchild, Zachary Hull, along with several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. Jake will be missed tremendously.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 2-5pm at New Comer Funeral Home, N. Syracuse. A funeral mass will be held on Monday 11am at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, Rte. 31, Baldwinsville.
