Warren R. Schartau, 81, of North Syracuse passed on Friday. Born in Marshfield, Wisconsin, son of Richard and Blanche Schartau, and raised in Cortland, NY, he was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church for over 50 years. A graduate of Cortland Jr./Sr. High School and a veteran of the Army Air Corp., Warren was a floor covering salesman with Northern Floor Covering for many years.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years Meryl (Wood) Schartau, daughters; Ruth Schartau, Carol Moth and Jane (Mark) Ridgeway, sons; Paul Schartau and Mark (Colleen) Schartau and 11 grandchildren.
Services will be held on Tuesday at 12 PM at New Comer Family Funeral Home, 705 N. Main St. (Rte 11), North Syracuse. Burial will follow in North Syracuse Cemetery.
Contributions in his name may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, 140 Swansea Drive, Syracuse, NY 13206-1939. .
