Warren J. Gomon

Warren J. Gomon went to be with God on Wednesday, September 26th surrounded by his loving family. He was 67 years old. He died of complications from a blood disorder.

He is the son of Bill and Louwanda Gomon and is predeceased by his parents, his brother Bill, and his sister Sheila. He is survived by his wife, Ana, and their children, Christopher and Tristan, as well as his former wife, Lynn, and their children Stephanie and Michael. His grandchildren, Jade, Ian, Katherine, Brennan, and Grace, will also greatly miss their Papa.

Warren was born in Syracuse and graduated from Corcoran High School. He worked for GP Communications before enlisting in the US Airforce, serving 33 years. "Wolfer" retired as a Senior Master Sergeant from the 174th after serving in both Operation Desert Storm and Operation Enduring Freedom, as well as at the Twin Towers after the attack. He was proud of his service.

He was also a regular volunteer in community and civic causes. He was a Little League umpire and softball coach for 20 years. He served on many political campaigns and shaved his head to support St. Baldrick's. He homeschooled his two youngest children. He loved playing the drums and softball, golfing, playing cards, cheering for the Dolphins, watching The Voice, and most of all, being a dad and grandpa.

If you were looking for Warren, all you had to do was find the laughter in the room. He was happiest making friends and family happy. No matter who you were, he loved you unconditionally. He will be greatly missed by many.

Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations and Funerals from 4 to 7 pm Tuesday, Oct. 2. Funeral Services, 10am Wednesday, Oct. 3 at Funeral Home, with a military burial at the Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, Syracuse. In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to the Disabled American Veterans Charity (DAV.org).
