Walter Carroll Dobey, 88, of North Syracuse, passed away Sunday at the VA Medical Center of Syracuse. Born in Montpelier, Vermont, Walter graduated from St. Michael's High School and attended Montpelier Junior College. Walter worked as a Time Study Engineer for Prosperity Inc. and retired as a supervising foreman after 25 years at Carrier Corporation. He was a decorated World War II Veteran, serving in the United States Marine Corps in the Pacific Theater from 1942-44. He was a communicant of St. Joseph's the Worker Catholic Church in Liverpool. He was predeceased by his wife of 56 years, Georgiana Cummings Dobey.
Walter is survived by a daughter, Deborah Black of Mexico, NY; a son, Dr.
Daniel C. Dobey (Dr. Sharon L. Raimondi) of East Aurora, NY; four grandchildren, Adam, Abby, Kylie and Sarah; one great grandchild, Alex.
Services will be at a time to be announced. Burial will be private. There will be no calling hours.
