Walter Boruszewski, 85, of Mattydale, passed away peacefully in his home. Walter was born in Poland and deported to Siberia in 1940. At 17, he joined the Polish Army in 1942 until 1947. Walter married Jane in England in 1949. They immigrated to America in 1951. He retired from Carrier and was honored Pole of the Year in 2005. He fulfilled his wife's dream of publishing her book "Escape from Russia" after she passed away in 2009.
He is survived by his daughters, Teresa, Irene and Linda; eight grandchildren; twenty seven great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.
Services will be Wednesday, 10 AM at St. Margaret's Church. Burial will follow at the North Syracuse Cemetery. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 5-8PM at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main St., N. Syracuse.
