Vito Cerra Jr.

November 10, 1940 — July 11, 2021

Vito Cerra Jr., 80, of Liverpool, passed away peacefully at Crouse Hospital on July 11, 2021.

Vito was born in Carbondale, Pennsylvania on November 10, 1940 to the late Vito and Catherine Cerra. He graduated from Benjamin Franklin High School in Carbondale, PA and then joined the Marines where he graduated from Parris Island. Vito retired from General Motors after 42 years where he was a tool and die maker. He enjoyed playing cards, spoiling his children and grandchildren. Most importantly Vito loved spending time with his family and friends.

He was predeceased by two brothers, Peter and Pat; and sisters, Eleanor and Mary.

He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Mary (Sharkey) Cerra; two daughters, Annemarie (Christopher) Cosper, and Tina (Jeremy) Reeder; grandchildren, Heather, JD, Jaylynn, and Jaclynn; 3 sisters, Jennie, Clara, and Maggie; two brothers, Joe and John; and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends may call on Friday, July 16, 2021 from 4:00 pm-7:00 pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals - North Syracuse, 705 N. Main St, Syracuse. A funeral mass will take place Saturday, 10AM, at Pope John XXIII Church, Liverpool, NY.

Interment at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery.
