Virginia W. Pittman, 79, of Bridgeport, passed away on Monday peacefully at St. Joseph's Hospital. She was born on July 28, 1932 in Suffolk, VA daughter of Charlie and Edith Joe Bynum. She last worked as a home health aide for James Square and CNY Home Health Care. Virginia enjoyed playing the organ and loved her family.
She was predeceased by her husband James Pittman in 2008. Surviving are her son, Eugene Bynum, 2 grandchildren; Torey Bynum, Sr., Selina Bynum-Kohn, 7 great grandchildren, sister Edith (Arthur) Jones, special friend, Carolyn Green, along with several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 4-7pm at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main St., North Syracuse. Services will be held on Wednesday 10 am from the funeral home. Burial will be at Onondaga Valley Cemetery.
