Virginia J. "Ginny" Malara, 83, of Syracuse, passed away on Thursday at the Onondaga Rehabilitation & Nursing Center. Virginia was born in Vernon, New York on April 15, 1938 daughter of the late Roy and Elizabeth Kitchen. Ginny was an avid gardener and loved to cook for her family. She was predeceased by her husband Joseph Malara.

She is survived by her daughters, Joanne (Michael) Bucci, Jeanne Casciere, Melissa Malara, son, Joseph (Tina) Malara, 3 grandchildren; David Swanson, Dustin Malara & Devin Malara, great granddaughter, Lilly Swanson, her sisters Carolyn, Margie, Bonnie & Joyce.

Visitation will be held from on Wednesday November 17th from 4-7pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 705 N. Main St., N. Syracuse with services at 7pm. Burial will take place at White Chapel Memory Gardens.

The family wishes to thank the staff at the Onondaga Center Rehabilitation & Nursing for their wonderful care given to Virginia.
