Virginia Bregou Jablanski passed from this life into the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Saturday, December 5, 2015. Virginia died peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family after a long and relentless battle with cancer. Virginia was born on July 5, 1952 in Providence, Rhode Island to Paul and Loretta Bregou. She was a graduate of Liverpool High School and Maria Regina College. In 1974, Virginia married Michael Jablanski, her husband of 41 years.
Virginia's faith in God and her faithfulness to Him were the hallmarks of Virginia's life. This was never more evident than in her unconditional love for her family. She is survived by her husband, Michael, her daughters Jamie (Joseph) Mazuryk and Nicole (Gerrod) Speer, her grandchildren Colin, Emma, Savannah, Chase and Kegan, a brother, Louis (Linda) Bregou, her sisters Susan (Richard) Mirra, and Denise (Fred) Santucci and several nieces and nephews. Virginia was predeceased by her parents, Paul and Loretta Bregou and her sister, Katherine Grainger.
Virginia also loved people. In 2001 she was hired as Director of Human Resources for Driver's Village where she worked until earlier this year. She was known for her tender heart and her willingness to listen patiently to anyone who came into her office. Every employee had value and potential in Virginia's eyes. She was also an active member of Northside Baptist Church, as she faithfully served in many ministries and Bible studies. She had a heart for women and cared deeply about their needs.
Virginia will surely be remembered by her courage. She faced her illness and her pain with a steadfast determination which she attributed wholly to the God she trusted. Her testimony of the love and forgiveness God offers to all, the message she shared until the end.
A memorial service celebrating Virginia's life will be held on Saturday December 12, 2015 at 11am at Northside Baptist Church, 7965 Oswego Road, Liverpool, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of CNY, 990 Seventh North Street, Liverpool, NY 13088.
