Vicente D. Lim, Jr., 80, of Syracuse passed away after a long illness on Sunday August 10, 2014. He was born on April 8, 1934 to the late Feliza and Vicente Lim, Sr.
Vince was hard-working, a good provider, and faithful man. His love of family and music will forever be in our hearts as he joins his wife Ella in heaven to be with God.
Vince worked as an operator at Allied Chemicals with an undeniable work ethic. He lived to live the American dream for his wife, family, and friends redefining the quality of life as he knew it. He worked until retirement age with his last employer, Linden Chemicals.
His sacrifice and stories will live on in our memories. His hopes and views of this world, love, and family will be shared in the stories that he left behind, in laughter and in tears, his legacy. We can imagine Vince whistling a tune and dancing with his wife to all the great classics – he will be full of life and energy. Rest-in-peace husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend…
He was survived by his five children who are all married: Robert & Patricia Lim, Ada & Larry O'Neil, Larry & Tess Lim, Anne & Glen Greene, and Gigi & Filemon Rivera. His grandchildren: Christopher & Kate Bowers, Jenny & Gary Sung, Sasha Townsend, Eric Lim, Jade Platt, Kevin Lim, Sara Platt, Armhand Lim, Tessa Lim,and Elijah Rivera. His great grandchildren: Ellie & Alissa Bowers, Miles & Nora Sung, Michael Wenninger, and Ella Monique Lauzon. His siblings representing his nieces and nephews: Jim & Ester Lim, George & Grace Lim, Virginia Tan, Rosalinda Lim, Estrellita & Carey Lieberman, Virgilio & Lilah Lim.
Services will be held at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main St., N. Syracuse. Calling hours will be Friday, August 15, 2014 between the hours of 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. with a small service immediately following.
