Vernice M. Gilbert, 83, of North Syracuse, passed away September 4, 2024. 

Vernice was born in Syracuse, New York on October 8, 1940 to the late Louis and Sophie Vulcano. 

Vernice retired from Wegmans after over 27 years of service. She was an avid bowler, enjoyed crafting and spending time in her garden. Her Great Grandson was her whole life. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Stephen Gilbert; son, Mark Moriarty. 

She is survived by her daughter, Daina Pohopek-Sweet; grandchild, Kara Raymond; great grandchild, Devin Raymond; as well as many Siblings, Nieces and Nephews. 

Visitation will take place on Wednesday, September 11, 2024 from 4:00-6:00 pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, North Syracuse, where funeral services will follow at 6:00 pm. 

A private inurnment will take place in Woodlawn Mausoleum.
