Verna June (Zappala) Pratt, 79, of Liverpool, NY and Naples, FL, passed away Thursday. She was married to her Fulton High School sweetheart, Charles E. Pratt for 60 years. She was mother to Thomas Pratt, Lynn Kennedy, Timothy Pratt of Liverpool, Lori Boisvert (David) of Concord, MA; Grandmother, mentor and constant friend to her seven grandchildren; Michael and Sarah Pratt, Joshua, Alyssa, and Jason Boisvert, Kara Kennedy and Alea Windell; Loving sister to R. Joseph Zappala (Patricia), Mary Hundycz (George). Verna is predeceased by her parents, Rosario and Sara Zappala and sister Josephine Davis. Verna was very active and healthy prior to her recent illness and enjoyed long walks, jogs, yoga, line dancing and reading. Her favorite activities revolved around bringing family and friends together for home cooked meals and spending time with her grandchildren. She lived by the credo "above all, be kind to others" always placing others before herself.
Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Tuesday, 10 AM at Christ the King Church, 21 Cherry Tree Circle, Liverpool, NY. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Fulton, NY. Calling hours will be Monday from 4-7PM at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main St., N. Syracuse.
Contributions may be made in her memory to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
