Velia Nave, 88, of Syracuse, passed away on Saturday at St. Joseph's Hospital. She was born on March 23, 1926 in Ponte, Italy daughter of the late Carlo and Antonia Mancini. Velia worked several years at St. Joseph's Hospital in housekeeping. She enjoyed walking, gardening ,loved to watch the Spanish Channel and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great granddaughter.
She was predeceased by her husband Antimo Nave in 1977.
Surviving are 3 daughters; Fiorina (Nick) Colosi, Gerarda Battle, Antonietta (Tom) Lane, 5 grandchildren; Giovanna, Cristina, Adam, Gabriella & Adriana, great granddaughter, Sofia Rose, a brother Francesco Mancini and sister, Caterina Mancini.
Services will be private. There are no calling hours.
Contributions may be made to the SPCA, the Red Cross or to Helping Hounds on CNY.
