Toshiko Bellinger, 91, mother of Frances and Margaret, grandmother of Sarah and Stephen, great grandmother of Amelia and Ross, passed away peacefully in her sleep at home on February 20, 2022, just shy of her 92nd birthday. While she spent her last years in Connecticut nearer to the sea she so loved, Toshiko lived most of her later years in Central Square, NY close to her many friends and family.
Born and raised in Yokohama Japan, Toshiko met and married Leslie Bellinger, to whom she was married until his passing in 1991. They made a life in the military service and traveled the world until retiring to Leslie's hometown. While she made many trips back to Japan to visit family, home was Central New York.
Toshiko loved to fish, was an avid gardener, and a lover of good food. She loved to dance. She was a woman of strength and determination who believed in keeping dreams alive.
Toshiko's ashes will be interred next to Leslie in Pine Plains Cemetery. Calling hours are Monday February 28 from 12 to 2pm with a service to follow at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, North Syracuse, NY.
