Thomas L. Zinszer, 82, of North Syracuse, passed away on Friday, November 10, 2023. He was born in Syracuse, NY to the late Elizabeth and Thomas Zinszer. Tom attended Syracuse University School of Fine Arts. He went on to have a career of 39 years in the graphic arts field, retiring from Carrier/UTC Corporation as the Manager of Graphic Services.
Tom was also an accomplished artist, producing works of fine art in acrylic. He often used his passion for the seashore, specifically those of Cape May, as the subject of his work. Using his preferred genre of hard edge style and his favorite subject, the seashore, Tom created a collection of paintings called "Impressions of the Seashore". He created works shown in successful exhibitions at the Everson Museum in Syracuse, the New York State Fair, Art Mart exhibition in Syracuse, the North Syracuse Arts Guild, Cape May County Art League and several libraries in the CNY area; as well as, many Art in the Park events. He received Honorable Mention for his painting, "The Water's Great" at the 2003 NY State Fair and Second Place for, "Night Lights" at the 2004 NY State Fair. Both awards were given in the Professional Category.
Aside from his artistic strengths, Tom was an avid reader of spy novels. He found peace in walking along the beaches of Cape May where he and his family took yearly vacations. Above all, Tom loved spending quality time with his family. He will be truly missed.
Tom was preceded in death by his siblings, Ronnie Zinszer, Becky Zinszer.
He is survived by his wife, Bonnie; son, Steven L. Zinszer; grandchildren, Joshua (Lauren), Jennifer, Jacob and Julia Zinszer; a sister, Lisa Piron; a brother, Roger Zinszer, a cousin, Robert (Margarita) Lansing and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In keeping with Tom's wishes, there will be no services at this time.
