Thomas J. Ward

Thomas J Ward Jr., 89, of Syracuse, passed away November 19, 2020. Thomas was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on January 26, 1931 to the late Thomas and Agnes Ward.

In his early years he served with the U.S Army in France. He was a gentlemen farmer earlier in his life with five horses and a ranch. Thomas later retired from Crucible Steel where he was the Vice President for many years. Thomas was an artist and woodworker and was awarded Best in Show at Everson Museum for his sculpture. In his free time he loved walking at Onondaga Lake Park and had many friends there. Most importantly he loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren.

He was predeceased bv his first wife Rosalie Ward, and second wife, Mary Jane Apps Ward.

He is survived by his daughter, Theresa (James) Tracy; sons, Thomas (Lori), Timothy, Michael (Cindy), Patrick (Teri), and Christopher (Penny) Ward; grandchildren, John (Jennifer) Tracy, Shannon (James) Vavonese, Keely (Brian) Parker, Ryan Tracy, Stephanie Ward, Kaitlin (Wayne) Howard, Colleen Ward, Keri (Mike) Mantegna, Matthew (Carina) Ward, Christina Ward, Jonathan Ward, and Christopher (Jen) Ward, Brittany (Keith) Pease; and 18 great grandchildren.

Services will be private.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Covenant House or St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
