Thomas F. Eagan, Jr., 84, of Clay, passed away on Friday. Born in Syracuse, NY to Thomas and Mary (O'Toole) Eagan, he attended N. Syracuse High School. Thomas served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict where he was stationed in Germany. He was an amateur boxer in the Army. Thomas was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church in Cicero where he served as Captain of ushers for many years. He was a former member of the Clay Sportsman's Club and Clay Youth Association. Thomas was in sales with various companies including Northside Collision, PBS Brake and Mucci's-White. Thomas enjoyed taking photos of family, playing drums and was very artistic. He especially enjoyed painting WWII fighter planes. He was a VA Fine Arts Competition winner. He was an antique toy collector and a history buff.
Thomas was predeceased by 2 brothers, James and William and 1 sister, Mary Tumolo.
Thomas is survived by his wife of 61 years, Catherine (Ardizzone); 6 children, Mary Susan (Mark) Tanski, Thomas III, Kathleen (Clark) MacDowell, Michael, Joseph and John; 8 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be Wednesday 4-7PM at New Comer Funeral Home, N. Syracuse. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday 11:30AM at Sacred Heart Church, Cicero with burial to follow in Pine Plains Cemetery, Clay. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Anna's Pantry at Sacred Heart Church, 8229 Brewerton Rd., Cicero, NY 13039.
