Thomas E. "Tom" Frommer, 65, of Clay passed away on Wednesday, November 28, 2012 after being hospitalized at the VA Hospital since September. He was born on July 22, 1947 in Albany, NY and was a Vietnam Veteran. Tom was a volunteer at the VA Medical Center, he was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the American Legion. He was an avid golfer, loved to travel, listen to the Oldies and enjoyed playing cards. Most of all, Tom enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Surviving are his wife, of 41 years, Donna, 3 daughters; Michele Frommer, St. Petersburg, FL, Kristin (Dan) Dombroski, Liverpool, Karin (Brandon) Salata, Largo, FL, grandchildren; Nathan, Hanna, Kailey, his mother, Danielle Frommer, brothers; Stephen (Ellen) Frommer, Edward Frommer, sisters; Denise (Mike Manning) Frommer, Melissa Frommer, Margaret Frommer, god daughter, Melissa Rasmussen, along with several nieces, nephews and many close friends who were like family. He was predeceased by his father, Edward Frommer, brother, Christopher Frommer, sister, Pamela Frommer and his beloved dog (aka son), Sherman.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, December 4, 2012, from 4-7pm at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main St., North Syracuse, with services at 7pm.
Tom's family would like to thank the extraordinary staff on 5E and the ICU at the VA Medical Center for their compassion and support during Tom's illness.
