Thomas D. Caruana
August 24, 1954 — May 15, 2022
Thomas Caruana ("Tom the Painter"), 67 of Mattydale, went home to be with the Lord on May 15th 2022 after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by his loving companion of 20 years Karen Burke Wyatt and devoted brother Leo Caruana. Tom was the son of the late Leo Caruana Sr. and Mary Lou Caruana Alberts.
Tom was born on August 24th, 1954 in Auburn NY and attended LaSalle High School in Albany. He spent many successful years in the family painting business and went on to own and operate his own company, Plowing On Demand. He also owned and operated his own computer repair business. Tom always went above and beyond not only for his customers but anyone that needed help. His generous spirit and sense of humor will be greatly missed.
He is preceded in death by his sister Christine Meluni in 2004.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving companion Karen and her children Kimberly Fay and Nicholas Wyatt and Grandchildren Kristen, Joshua and Vivian. His beloved daughter Danielle Downing (Benjy) and Granddaughters Lillian, Abigail and Penelope all of Chappell Hill NC. His brothers Leo Caruana Jr of Cicero, David Caruana of San Diego Ca., Paul Caruana of Lyncourt, and Christopher Caruana of Mattydale. Sisters Therese Hon of Cicero and Missy Carter of Bridgeport. Step Brother Mark Cragin of California and Step Sister Karen Lambert of Elbridge and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
