Theresa was born at home in Hawthorne, New Jersey on November 9th, 1934, to Sophie (Roncoroni) and Thomas Kearns. She went home to be with her Lord and Savior on September 11th, 2021.
She attended St. Anthony's elementary school and graduated from Hawthorne High School. She worked for NY Telephone Company, in NYC, as an operator. She married William "Bill" Meeker in September of1958, at St. Anthony's Church, in Hawthorne NJ.
She was ahead of her time with "Farmhouse Style", leaving New Jersey for the country life with her husband Bill, to raise a family in Upstate NY. She had free range chickens before it was cool and loved her 6 acres and big barn with the red door that housed a menagerie of animals throughout the years.
She had a grape vine and raspberry bushes in her back yard, which she made into jams, grape juice, jellies and homemade pies that were second to none.
Theresa worked as a banquet waitress for many years at Lemoyne Manor.
She loved to sniff out a good bargain at antique stores and braked frequently for garage sales. She had a gift of giving and would give you anything you admired, insisting that she was tired of it. When the kids were young, go-carts and dirt bikes could be seen kicking up dust in the side lot (and in later years sometimes a grandchild could be seen driving around the back acreage in her minivan).
She lived a devout Catholic life and loved the Lord. She was a loyal parishioner at Assumption Church and served in the choir for 13 years.
Her husband William predeceased her in 2001 after 43 years of marriage.
She is survived by her 5 children, William Meeker, Jr., Mary (James) Douglas, Theresa (Michael) Curley, Thomas (Cathy) Meeker and Samuel (Kim) Meeker. She has 6 grandchildren, Sarah (Joe), Jeffrey (Chelsea), Andrew (Samantha), Stephanie, Shannon, Sandra and nine great-grandchildren.
