Syracuse- Ted Niedzwiecki, Sr., 87, passed away on Saturday.
He was a devout Catholic and a parishioner of Blessed Sacrament and St. Vincent DePaul Church. Ted was married to the late Lucille Daloia for 64 years. Ted was the son of the late Alexander and Anne (Wise) Niedzwiecki. Ted served in the US Army during the Korean War. During his service he received, Bronze Camp Star, Combat Infantry Badge and the Purple Heart. He worked at Liberty Bakery for over 50 years. Ted was an avid gardener, bird watcher, he enjoyed baseball, traveling and spending time with his family.
He was predeceased by his son, Michael, brother, Richard and sister, Delores.
Ted is survived by his children, Mary (Steve) Furniss, Theodore Niedzwiecki, Jr., Anna M.(Mike) Brooks, William Niedzwiecki (Beth Moore), Theresa (Bob) Vargason, Laura J.(Bob) Assisi, sisters, Mary Niedzwicki, Shirley McGuire, Carol Wisnoski, Arlene Hayes, brothers, Bill and Edward Niedzwiecki, grandchildren, Kelly, Heather, Toni, Denise, Melissa, Joshua, Hillary, Brad, Brian, Mikki, Alex, Ryan, Kayla and 23 great grandchildren.
The family wishes to thank St. Joseph's Hospital and Loretto Nursing Home, 13th floor staff, for their wonderful care and compassion during Ted's illness.
Calling hours will be held on Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 am at Blessed Sacrament, 3127 James St., Syracuse.
A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 am at the church. Burial will follow at Onondaga Veterans Cemetery.
