Ted C. Karkowski, 91, of Minoa, passed away on Sunday at home. He was born on January 4, 1921 in Rome, NY. After graduating High School he served in the US Marine Corps during WW II. While in the Marine Corps, he played baseball and basketball for the Marines. On March 10, 1952 he was married to Katherine Conde of Troy, NY. Ted worked for Lamson Diebold Co. for 33 years retiring in 1991. His hobbies were his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and the BOSTON RED SOX.
Surviving are his wife, Katherine, 3 sons; Ted, II (Patricia), Tom (Tim), Bill (Susan), a daughter, Catherine Young, 9 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and in-law, Ellen Karkowski.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 10-12 Noon at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 North Main Street, North Syracuse, New York with services to follow at Noon. Burial will take place at Oakwood Cemetery, Syracuse, New York.
Contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to the Disabled American Veterans.
