Thelma G. Barnes

Thelma G. Barnes, 90, formerly of Oswego County, passed away on Tuesday after a long illness at James Square Nursing Home. She was born on July 25, 1924 in Fulton daughter of the late Alfred and Ruth Johnson.
She served in the U.S. Navy during WW II. She was a longtime employee of Nestles in Fulton and in her later years she became a home health aide. Thelma loved to collect stamps, enjoyed her garden and spending time with her grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Bert Barnes, Sr. and her daughter Karen Rozinewski.
Surviving are her children; Bert (Kerry) Barnes, Jr., James (Rose) Barnes, Kathy (Gerry) Gorman, John (Edie) Barnes, David Barnes, Ruth (Randy) Shoults, Tom (Gloria) Barnes, Donna (Joseph) England, Mark (Karen) Barnes, over 30 grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday 12:30 pm at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main St., North Syracuse.
