The Honorable Elsie S. Korthas, of Syracuse, passed away October 17, 2016 at age 82.
Elsie was born in Fabius, New York on November 15, 1933 to the late Milton and Ruth Ellen Downing. Elsie retired from the Town of Constantia and the Village of Cleveland, where she tenured as Magistrate.
Elsie was preceded in death by her first husband, George L. Skinner in 1958 and her second husband, James F. Korthas Sr. in 1989.
She is survived by her children, Lawrence Skinner, David (Robin) Skinner, James (Sharon) Korthas, Jr., Donald J. Korthas, Sr., Thomas X. Korthas, Paul J. (Sue) Korthas, Rosemarie Korthas Prunoske, George Korthas, Robert (Anne) Korthas, and John A. Korthas; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; brothers and sisters, James (Lyn) Downing, Frank (Shirley) Downing, Robert Jansen, Clara (Ken) Downing Podger, Georgine Mavaro, Barbara Kimbrough, Carol Cain and Janice Simon, Leonore Dygert; many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may call on, Friday from 4pm - 7pm at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 North Main, North Syracuse.
Her funeral service will be held Saturday at 10AM at Word of Life Assembly of God, 12 E Oneida Street, Baldwinsville NY 13027.
Interment Maplewood Rural Cemetery in Lafayette, New York.
