Teresa M VanBuskirk (Carr), 53, of Phoenix, passed away at the comfort of her home after fighting ALS.
She was born on August 10, 1970, in Newport RI, to the late Francis and Phillis Carr (Mashaw).
After school Teresa joined the work force and had two children, Jesse James and Ashley Lynn Wilson, with the late Kenneth Wilson. Then while employed at Syroco she met her love of her life, James VanBuskirk Jr, who she would soon to be married to for 26 years and have her third child, Cheyenne VanBuskirk.
Teresa enjoyed working, the multiple jobs she had she proved the point that there wasn’t anything she couldn’t do. She worked at a variety of places such as a research lab, doctor office, dental office, food service and one of her favorites was the grounds department at SU. Teresa loved her gardens and flowers, spending countless hours making her yard as beautiful as herself, as well as helping others with theirs.
Teresa loved music, good times, and her friends and family. She and her crew could be found enjoying life to the fullest sticking with the phrase “I’m not here for a long time, just a good time”. Whether she was encircled by friend and family at the local VFW or American Legion, or just kicking back at her house with her sister, she always brought that sparkle to the group with that smile. Her grandchildren and sister would always make her day and brighten that smile with a daily phone call from them. She loved them all so much.
She leaves to mourn her husband, James, her puppy Hammy, 3 children, Jesse, Ashley and Cheyenne, many grandchildren, 2 brothers, John and Frank, 2 sisters, Suzanne (John) Viola and Patricia Davis and numerous nieces and nephews.
“T”'s request for no services or calling hours will be respected, and a celebration of life will be held in the near future, in her words “don’t dress up and cry for me, come as you are and have a party like I would want you to.” “T” will be missed by all who knew her and forever loved by all she has touched.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to VFW 5540 Phoenix, NY, The American Legion 113 Baldwinsville, NY or the Upstate NY Chapter of ALS Association Liverpool, NY.
