Suzanne Richards

Suzanne Richards, 83, of Syracuse, passed away April 25, 2023. Suzanne was born in Pittsfield, Massachusetts on August 7, 1939 to Arthur and Grace (Corkhill) Campbell. Suzanne retired from Bear Road Elementary School in 1995 after teaching 2nd grade for 29 years. In her free time, she enjoyed reading mystery and crime novels, played bridge and loved spending time in Cape Cod with her family. Suzanne was an avid traveler, taking trips to Germany, Vieques Puerto Rico to see her best friend Shirley Sherwin, Scotland, China, Alaska and many local trips to Massachusetts. She was a kind and selfless person that was always willing to lend a hand to those in need.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Richard "Dick" E. Richards; daughter, Debra L. Waggoner; brother, John "Jack" C. Campbell; father, Arthur P. Campbell; mother, Grace E. Campbell; and step mother, Juliette Noel Campbell.

She is survived by her son, Michael (Joanne) A. Richards; grandchildren, Nathanael E. Waggoner, Benjamin B. Waggoner, Loriahna M. Richards and Danielle E. Richards; son-in-law Barry "Bear" E. Waggoner; several nieces and nephews; and symbolically adopted daughter, Mariam Bekrani and sons, Hamid Bekrani and Mohammadreza Bekrani.

Calling hours will be held, Wednesday, May 3, 2023 from 5 - 7pm at New Comer Cremations and Funerals. Memorial contributions may be made in Suzanne's memory to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
