Susan Candice Tyldesley Reason, 67 of Pompey, passed away peacefully with her loving devoted husband by her side on Saturday, September 21, 2024.
Raised in Adams, NY, Sue was born into a loving family. She was the oldest of four, excelled academically as an honor student, and helped care for her siblings. Childhood summers were spent at Brantingham Lake. She participated in modern jazz dance, played the bassoon in band, sang in chorus, and was the editor of her senior yearbook.
Sue graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology in 1979 with a Bachelor of Science in Nuclear Medicine. She dedicated 30+ years to a career at Centrex Laboratories as the Lab Manager and was a mentor to many. After the loss of her son in 2013, she began volunteering her time at Hope for Bereaved in a support group for bereaved parents.
Sue would say her greatest accomplishment is her family. Sue married John Reason on July 11, 1981. They raised four children in Liverpool, NY. As a devoted sports mom, she spent many nights and weekends cheering on her kids. She also treasured her role as a grandma. Sue is remembered by many for her warm smile, compassionate heart, and kind soul.
In her spare time and short retirement, she loved to hike and RV camp with her husband. Living out some of their retirement dreams, they traveled across Canada and down the east coast.
Surviving to cherish her memory are her husband, John Reason of Pompey; daughter, Rebecca (Jim) Rose, of Baldwinsville; sons, Robert (Jess) Reason of Phoenix and Tyler (Jen) Reason of Baldwinsville; grandchildren, Kaelyn Rose, Connor Rose, and Madelyn Reason; brother, David (Vicky) Tyldesley and sister, Laurie Beth (Matt) Pestle, and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents, Robert and J. Sally Tyldesley and her son, Benjamin Reason.
Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 705 North Main St, North Syracuse on Sunday, September 29th from 12 to 3pm with funeral services immediately following.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Sue’s memory can be made to Hope for Bereaved at 4500 Onondaga Blvd, Syracuse, NY 13219 or the Alzheimer's Association.
