Susan M. Finochio (DonVito), age 66, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 13, 2020, at the Francis House in Syracuse.
She was born on July 6, 1953 in Syracuse to Anthony and Vincenta (LoBello) DonVito.
In 1972, she graduated from John C. Birdlebough High School. After completing school, she married Paul R. Finochio on May 31, 1976 and spent most of her career as a claims adjuster. She retired in 2016 to spend more time with family and friends. Sue was an active member of the community having served at Abundant Life Christian Center for close to 30 years. Her other interests included baking, sewing and most importantly spending time and loving her five grandchildren. Sue had a unique ability to love all indiscriminately. Her love was unconditional and was available to everyone who was in need. The kindness and generosity she shown made her everyone's Italian Mom.
She is survived by her husband, Paul; sons, Paul Jr. (Janine) and Anthony; sisters, Phyllis (Randy) Sokolowski, Cindy (Oliver) Paine, and Ellen Meredith; many nieces, nephews, cousins and her five grandchildren. Most importantly, Sue was a believer in Jesus Christ, so we know where she is and who she is with.
Calling hours will be Monday, June 22, 2020 from 2:00PM to 6:00PM. Burial will be at Assumption Cemetery.
Gathering size, within our chapels will be based on the most current NYS occupancy requirements.
Masks are required, and social distancing is to be observed inside and outside of our chapels.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Francis House.
