Steven R. Saumure

Steven "Poppy" Saumure, 68, of Mexico, NY, passed away on Monday, May 17th. He served in the US Army for four years. Steven spent his retirement with his wife of 42 years, Rhonda, where they lived on their property. There he enjoyed his passion for nature and woodworking with his son. He and his wife cherished their time and memories with their children and granddaughters.

He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Theresa; father-in-law, Clayton Boula; sister, Joanne Browning; brother, Larry Saumure and his niece, Jil-Lynn Euto.

Steven is survived by his wife, Rhonda; children, Jennifer (Nick) McLaughlin and Mathew Saumure; mother-in-law, Deanna Boula; three granddaughters, Maya, Kassidy and Meadow; brothers, Rodney (Bernadette) Boula and Randy Boula; sister, Roxanne (David) Baker and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be private.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the CNY Chapter of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention or consider becoming a tissue and organ donor as Steven was.
