Steven J. Hartkopf Sr., 63 of Phoenix, NY, passed away on Friday, June 30, 2023. Born in Syracuse, NY and raised with love by his late mother, Geraldine and his father, August Smith.
He loved fishing, hunting, telling stories, his dog, Abby, classic cars, celebrating the Fourth of July and spending time with his loving family and friends.
He is survived by his father, August Smith; children, Tim Thompson, Jessica Hartkopf and Steven Hartkopf Jr, step-sons, sisters, brothers, grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by his longtime girlfriend, Pamela Thompson.
On Wednesday, July 5, our family is going to have a Memorial Celebration at the Phoenix Fire House for my Dad from 4-7pm. Please come pay your respects and share a story or two about him. He was such a big part of every life he touched. The address is 457 Main Street, Phoenix, NY. There is plenty of parking around the back.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The National Kidney Foundation.
