Stephen M. Furgal, 58, of Mattydale, passed away peacefully Monday afternoon, surrounded by his loving family. An avid outdoorsman and storyteller, Stephen lived passionately and worked as a respiratory therapist at Bon Secours Comm. Hospital, in Port Jervis, NY. He previously owned Archer Janitorial Service and the Town House in Williamstown, NY. He also co-owned the Town Tavern in Mattydale, NY with his family.
He is predeceased by his father, Stanley "Baldy" Furgal and two brothers, Martin and John Furgal.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Kathryn; his children, Benjamin, Timothy and Stacy (Lucas) Connor; mother, Shirley; brother, Richard (Anne); sister in law, Deborah and sister, Mary (Eamon Vaughan) Brisson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be Friday 4PM-7PM at New Comer Funeral Home, N. Syracuse with funeral mass at 10AM Saturday at St. Margaret's Church, Mattydale.
In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the family to help fund a respiratory therapy scholarship.
