Stanley H. Wilber, 95, of Liverpool, passed away November 19, 2022.

Stanley was born in Gilbertsville, NY on January 25, 1927, to the late Stanley and Mabelle Wilber.

A U.S. Army Veteran, Stanley retired from NY Telephone after 37 years.

In 1955, Stanley and Mildred moved to New Hartford, NY and raised their family.

He began his career at NY Telephone as a lineman and eventually worked his way up to full Engineer. He was the lead Communications Engineer for the 1980 Olympics in Lake Placid. He was a founding member of the Utica District Telephone Employee's Federal Credit Union and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America.

He served in the US Coast Guard Auxiliary where he achieved the rank of Captain. He was also a Free Mason.

Stanley attended the 50th Boy Scout Jamboree in CO Springs as an Assistant Scout Master, which sparked his love of traveling the West.

Stanley had many talents, including Boating and Airplane Piloting. He truly was a renaissance man who could build and fix anything. He was a history buff, who was passionate about the Civil War and Gettysburg where his Great Grandfather served with the 6th Corp 121st NY Regiment.

He was preceded in death by his beloved Wife of 67 years, Mildred B. Wilber; Grandson, Christopher Wilber; Daughters in Law, Kathleen Wilber and Nancy Wilber.

He is survived by his Daughters, Donna (Paul) Decker, Debra W. Lesko, Dianne M. (Robert) Emling, Denise W (Timothy) Kulpa; Sons, Stanley H. Wilber Jr., John L. (Georgiana) Wilber, and Jeffrey W. (Mary) Wilber; 20 Grandchildren; 29 Great Grandchildren; and 12 Great Great Grandchildren.

Visitation will take place on Tuesday, November 29 from 4-7 PM at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, North Syracuse. A funeral service will take place on Wednesday, November 30 at 10 AM at DeWitt Community Church. Burial to follow in Pine Plains Cemetery, Clay.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Tunnels for Towers Foundation.
