Stanley E. VanScoter, 60, of Syracuse, passed away Friday. He was born in Angelica, NY and was a Vietnam veteran serving in the Navy. Stanley retired from National Grid with 30 years of service. He is predeceased by his parents, Hiram and Sara VanScoter and brother, Hiram Paul VanScoter.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Maureen A. (O'Connell) VanScoter; son, Jacob E. VanScoter; daughter Julia S. (Jason) Baldwin; brothers, Jim Saulsgiver, Joseph VanScoter; sisters, Twila Cleveland, Josephine Lane, Leona Merkel, Ellen Berry and Martha (Joe) Orego; numerous nieces and nephews.
Service will be Wednesday 7PM at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main St., N. Syracuse. Private burial in the Onon. Co. Veteran's Cemetery. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4-7PM at the funeral home, before services.
