Sonja C. Baranowski Dunlavey, 74, of Clay died Thursday at University Hospital following a courageous battle with cancer. She was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Church. Sonja was a nurturing wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was predeceased by her husband, Phillip Dunlavey who died in 2009.
Surviving are a daughter, Linda (COL Curt) Brandt of Brandon, Fl; sons, Bill Sparaco of Cicero and Timothy (Alisha) Dunlavey of Clay; sisters, Irene (David) House of Sun City, AZ, Grace (Tom) Speranzi of Oneonta and Ruth Smith of Queensbury, NY; brother, John (Bonnie) Baranowski of Oneonta; grandchildren, Joseph, Thomas, Harley, Colt and Avril; dear friend, JoAnne Spuches; several nieces and nephews.
Services will be 10 AM on Tuesday at St. Rose of Lima Church. Burial will be in North Syracuse Cemetery. Calling hours will be Monday from 4-7 PM at New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main St., N. Syracuse.
