Sidney T. Wilson

Sidney Townsend Wilson, 90, of Canastota, passed away August 29, 2021 at home in the presence of his family.

Sidney was born in Riverhead, New York on December 19, 1930 to the late Wesley and Bessie Wilson. He was a lifetime resident of the Messenger's Bay area of Oneida Lake. He married Gertrude Coon on August 26, 1955. Sid worked for General Electric as a chemical specialist for 20 years. Following his work there, he was a self-employed woodworker. He later opened the family business Yankee Doodles gift shop. In addition for the last 30 years, Sid's passion was sharing the word of God as Pastor at Grace Bible Fellowship in the Canastota area.

He was predeceased by his wife Gertrude; a grandson, Timothy Schulz; and brothers, Wesley, Theodore, and John Wilson.

He is survived by his daughter, Sandra (Kevin) Schulz; son, Mark (Cynthia) Wilson; five grandchildren, Rachel, Sarah, and Katie Wilson, and Daniel and Krista Schulz.

He is also survived by many nieces, and nephews. Family and friends may call on Saturday, September 4, 2021 from 12:00 pm-2:00 pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals - North Syracuse, 705 N. Main St, Syracuse, where funeral services will be held Saturday at 2:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Grace Bible Fellowship, Canastota.
