Shirley (Bowley) Benfer, 81 of Phoenix, NY passed away Saturday January 13th. Born in Belgium, NY, Shirley was a graduate of Baldwinsville Academy. She was a former resident of Panama City, FL and El Monte, CA. Shirley returned to the Syracuse area in 1983. Shirley was a member of the Auxiliary of the VFW Post 5540, Phoenix, NY, a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Elks, El Monte, CA and a 50 years plus member of the First United Methodist Church of Baldwinsville. Shirley retired from Honda City, Liverpool, NY. Shirley was predeceased by her husband, Robert Benfer, her parents Daniel and Ethel (Krafft) Bowley and brother LaVerne (Bud) Bowley.
Shirley is survived by a nephew, LaVerne Bowley II and wife Jane of Welaka, FL; cousins Kenneth Krafft and family, Lorraine (George) Sahm and family and Natalie Hunter and family. Shirley has donated her body to Upstate Medical Center.
