Shirley Hierholzer Titus, 89, went to be with the Lord, from her home, on January 15, 2024. Born on August 2, 1934 to the late James and Ruth Churchill Hierholzer.
She grew up in Southwood (Jamesville, NY) and graduated from LaFayette High School. She married Gerald Titus in 1952 and raised their six children and her sister, Pamela in Jamesville. While being a stay at home Mom, she was a Cub Scout Den Mother for her boys, and then a Girl Scout Troop Leader for her girls. She later went to work for the JC Penney Co. and then to the Agway Insurance Co.
After she retired in 1999, she went back to work for Sonshine Day Care in Manlius, NY. She enjoyed camping, sewing, baking, reading and mostly enjoyed being a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She was predeceased by her parents; her sister, Betty Barnhart; niece, Carol; nephew, Thomas; ex-husband, Gerald; great-grandchildren, Isaac and Jamie.
She is survived by her children; Gregory (Susan), Mark (Mieko), Scott (Juanita), Naomi, Kim and Lisa (Charles) Colton; her sister, Pamela Hierholzer St. Germain; 15 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family would like to thank Hospice of CNY for their care in Shirley's final days.
A Memorial Service will be held in the Spring at the LaFayette Alliance Church. Donations may be made to the Jamesville Museum at P.O. Box 76, Jamesville, NY 13078.
