Shirley Joyce (Arnold) Parsons, 86, of Pennellville, New York went home to be with her Lord on April 7, 2025.

She was born to the late Albert and Constance Arnold on March 11, 1939 in Youngstown, OH. Shirley was a graduate of Longview High School in Longview, TX and Empire School of Beauty in Endicott, NY. Shirley was the owner of Village Beauty Shop in Newark Valley, NY, and she also worked as a secretary for the Newark Valley Central School District. She and her late husband Sherman moved to Old Forge, NY after they retired.

Shirley was a faithful servant of Jesus Christ and was always an active church member wherever she lived including, First Baptist Church in Newark Valley, NY; Inlet Community Church in Inlet, NY; Skyline Baptist Church in Rome, NY; and Grace Baptist Church in Pennellville, NY. She enjoyed playing the dulcimer, piano and organ; knitting and crocheting, baking, reading, and studying her Bible.

She was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Sherman Ross Parsons; brothers-in-law Lynn Parsons and Charlie Stauble; and her sister-in-law Sandra Parsons.

Shirley is survived by her three sons, Steven (Karen); Shawn (Janele); and Scott (Kerry) Parsons; sister-in-law, Gail Stauble; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service and private family burial will be held at a later date.
