Shirley J. Stummer, 85, of North Syracuse died Sunday at Elderwood At Birchwood. Born in Syracuse, she retired after 31 years of service at General Electric Co. She bred and exhibited purebred miniature longhaired dachshunds for 25 years. She was member of the Dachshund Club of Greater Syracuse, Onondaga Kennel Association, National Miniature Dachshund Club and the Dachshund Club of America.
Survivors are her husband of 53 years, Raymond A. Stummer, a son, William A. Devendorf, a sister, Linda H. Smythe, 15 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Services are private. There are no calling hours.
Contributions may be made to the Humane Association of CNY, PO Box 38, Liverpool, NY 13088.
Arrangements have been entrusted to New Comer Funeral Home, 705 N. Main St., N. Syracuse, NY.
